It is called the
miracle of wine, and we are learning, especially beginning about 25 years ago
in Europe, about how people who drink red wine, maybe a glass or two a day at
the most, actually have a decreased risk of heart disease. We learn more and
more now about flavonoids, which are chemicals in the wine that can make this
possible. The key thing to understand here is that you can drink, but it’s in
small doses, not a lot. If you have a lot, that can actually work against you
and cause problems with alcohol abuse.
