You may have heard the
statement, children are just little adults. Well that is true, but it’s also
not true when it comes to medicine. You just can’t give the same drugs to
children that you give to adults, and you can’t give half the dose, or anything
like that. Many medications cannot be processed by children. Many medications
given to children can cause problems in bone development, teeth development.
All of these things have to be checked into. So if you have a medication at
home that you think worked for you, just don’t give it to your child. Check
with your doctor, and find out if they need their own prescription, or their
own dose.

Prescription Drug Abuse Is Alarming
When you think
of drug abuse, the odds are quite good that you think of cocaine or heroin, but
a report out of Florida highlights a serious trend in this country. A
look at autopsies in that state found that the rate of deaths caused by
prescription drugs was three times the rate of deaths caused by all illegal
drugs combined. According to the Food and Drug Administration, seven
million Americans are abusing prescription drugs; an eight percent increase in
six years. Looking at it another way, it's more than the total abuse of
heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, and inhalants combined.

appreciate your comments.

Choosing the Right Allergy Drugs
You know, it always seems to be allergy season. Many people rush out to the drugstore to purchase something to help them deal with those sniffles and sneezes, but my first advice is to make certain that the drug you choose is right for you, and that you can tolerate it. You might want to talk to your doctor or pharmacist first. Pharmacists are available to talk about both prescription and nonprescription drugs. There are several classes of allergy drugs. Antihistamines, which help relieve sneezing, itchy eyes and hives, decongestants help relieve congestion, and steroids reduce inflammation and swelling.
We always appreciate your comments.
